My daughter and I ran the 40-mile stretch from Lafayette to Covington a couple of days ago. The Wabash is 8-10 feet below normal levels.

We canoed the section with the log jam again today -- July 14th -- and the channel is open.

It is still pretty hazardous, because there are still a lot of fallen logs in the water (from both sides) ...

Is this a big deal?

Are there times when the parking spaces at the Cox Ford takeout are all filled? My only experience there has been that ours was the only vehicle around.
